Learning To Read
Like all skills in life, learning to read is easier for some people than others. While some children do learn to read simply by observing another person do it, this is actually very rarely the case. Nancy Young has created the infographic below to help us understand just how different this learning journey can be for the learning population.
You'll notice that for 90-95% of the population, a structured literacy approach is likely valuable, and it is essential for at least half of our learners. Taking a structured approach therefore ensures your greatest likelihood of success.
